Today I arrived and checked the airflow. I accessed the evaporator coil and confirmed it was not iced over. A leak search was performed and a leak at the metering device was discovered. The system was just at the freezing point. At the evaporator coil there was also an intermittent hit of another possible leak with the leak detector. I presented three options 1) tighten the metering device and adjust the refrigerant charge 2) pump down the system and use nitrogen to increase the pressure and confirm that there are not anymore leaks 3) gather data for an evaporator coil replacement. Option #1 was chosen and the metering device was tightened and the refrigerant charge was adjusted. A comprehensive leak search was declined. It was stated that they will be vacating the building shortly. The system returned to normal function after the metering device was tightened and the refrigerant charge was adjusted.
