Before the repair I confirmed that the existing fan motor was not functioning. During the new motor installation I noticed that the plastic fan shroud had been cracked (not entirely uncommon for this model). The fan shroud was secured by adding a couple of self tapping screws. The unit was operated after the repair and is now back in service. Of note: during todays repair it was noticed that the drive belt for the indoor blower wheel has started to wear into the pulley.
