The existing unit is a 5-year-old allied Air system (Armstrong), it has a leaking evaporator coil that is still under warranty. The homeowner was told by a previous contractor that the parts were unavailable and they would have to replace the system. I found the coil available at the factory and it can be shipped here in as quick as 10 to 14 days, it is in warranty however the unit was not registered so it does not have an extended labor warranty. The warranty expires at the end of July. The condenser holds 6 lb of refrigerant, there is a pull-down staircase to the attic and is relatively easy access. A second set of hands would be helpful getting the coil in and out of the attic due to the attic insulation kit
