CUSTOMER STATED: They had a leak in garage, and think it is coming from the water heater. TECHNICIAN NOTES: Upon inspection I found that this is a Rheem 50 gallon natural gas water heater located in the garage of home, and is only 6 years of age which is still within manufacturing warranty. I could not find any leaking/mechanical failures for the water heater itself, but directly behind the drywall of water heater where the PRV is located is the source of leaking. I let the h/o know that the PRV has failed, and needs to be replaced. RESOLUTION/RECOMMENDATIONS: We would need to replace the leaking double union PRV located in the garage of home with new valve to help fix/prevent any future plumbing issues.
