On arrival, customer says rattle is coming from the return in the front reception area. Gave newly installed Goodman gas pack a cooling call and listened. Found filter popped out of filter tray due to blower pressure and was being pulled up into blower assembly. Tech put filter back in place and used plumbing strap to secure filter. System was installed in May. Install warranty.

Tech found break rook mini split supplying 70 degree supply temp. Found low 410a suction pressure. Gave option of performing leak search, customer opted to charge system up. Added 13oz of 410A to get pressures within spec. System is back up and cooling with an 18 degree delta t.

Tech found common wire from contractor had fallen off and burnt up. Tech called homeowner and informed him on findings he approved repairs. Tech tested capacitor was within specs. Once repaired tech cycled system. System is cooling properly at this time.

Found the system operating upon arrival, costumer stated the system does turn off and on frequently prior to the power outage. Tech relocated the DAT sensor a little away from the indoor coil and adjusted the airflow to prevent it from short cycling. Indoor blower operated upon every Start up, but will require monitoring due to the power surge. Upon inspection of duct work, tech did noticed condensation being formed on the exterior of the supply lines, lack of airflow is being provided to the 2nd floor. Some duct lines have no insulation and are producing excess condensation around them. Indoor blower motor does speed up and as it should. Zoning is operating as it should. Tech recommended duct work replacement due to great amount of airflow being loss into the crawlspace. Airflow to the 2nd floor has always been a challenge. Field supervisor will be notified, system is cooling but will run extended times. New system less than 2 years old. Warranty.

Upon arrival tech found thermostat locked with a passcode and displaying Celsius temperatures. Tech removed passcode and set temps to Fahrenheit. Found condenser not running due to failed dual run capacitor. System has 10 year parts warranty. Tech did not have a 5mfd capacitor on truck, used 35/7.5MFD to get system running. Will need to swap 7.5 with a 5MFD. Tech tested system and found low delta t. Monitored pressures and found high head and suction pressures, low superheat and high subcool. Tech checked for any airflow issues and was unable to find any airflow challenges. Removed 1lb of 410a to get subcool within spec.

Upon arrival tech was informed system was over flowing again. Homeowner had already use a shop vac to get water out of aux pan. Tech inspected drain and found it was full of water. Used nitrogen to blow line out. Vacuumed out primary drain pan inside unit and put 2 algae tabs in pan. Turned system back on and and checked for water drainage. Tech had a steady drain coming out of line. Found system a little low on Freon and informed customer about potentially replacing due to age and R22 Freon type. Has a field supervisor set up for following week. System is back operational and draining. No charge due to recent visits.

Tech found new contactor pulled in but not passing voltage due to ants. Tech tried removing ants but found contactor still not passing voltage with contactor pulled in. Tech quoted replacing contactor and informed customer exterminator or pest control needs to be called or issue will continue to occur. Customer declined repair did not collect trip charge.

FOUND 13 YEAR OLD SYSTEM LOW ON CHARGE. LOCATED LEAK WITHIN EVAPORATOR COIL. HEAVY CORROSION ON CONDENSER COILS AS WELL. COSTLY REPAIRS NOT RECOMMENDED. HANDED OVER TO FIELD SUPERVISOR. WILL BE IN CONTACT DURING BUSINESS HOURS.
