Responded to service call for water leak at main shut-off valve. Inspection revealed an active leak from the gate valve with visible corrosion, which continued regardless of valve position. After determining repair was not feasible, installed new ball valve for reliable water control. Coordinated with city water department to temporarily shut off water supply while completing installation.
