Responded to no heat complaint at rental property. Inspection of aging furnace revealed significant issues with the collector box seal at the inducer motor connection, allowing leakage. Performed comprehensive heat exchanger inspection including scope examination and diagnostic drilling, with no visible cracks or pitting observed. Discussed findings with property manager regarding limited repair options due to internal collector box location being attached directly to heat exchanger.

Responded to no heat complaint on aging furnace system that was repeatedly cycling on and off. Diagnostic inspection revealed the exterior exhaust pipe elbow was improperly installed without adhesive, allowing condensation to freeze and block proper ventilation. Applied silicone sealant to create proper seal on the exhaust pipe elbow and advised tenant about possible need to remove ice accumulation during extreme cold temperatures.

Responded to no-heat call where furnace was operating but home temperature was dropping despite thermostat set to 80°F. Diagnosed code 311 (reduced airflow) and discovered one closed return vent. Replaced air filter, opened all supply and return vents, and verified gas pressure was properly adjusted. Home temperature increased approximately 5° before departure. Noted possible system oversizing and recommended potential addition of basement return grill for improved makeup air if issues persist.
