Responded to no-heat call for aging furnace where pilot light was functioning but heating cycle was not completing. Diagnosed tripped fan safety switch as the cause of failure. Reset safety switch which restored normal operation of the unit. Unit functioned properly after reset, but due to age of equipment, recommended replacement options for both safety switch and fan motor as preventative maintenance.

Responded to no-heat service call on aging furnace unit. Upon arrival, observed pilot light functioning but heating cycle failing to initiate. Diagnosed issue as tripped fan safety switch, which was reset resulting in restored furnace operation. Due to inconclusive root cause (potentially faulty safety switch or intermittent motor overheating), customer advised to monitor system performance and provided replacement options for both components.

Completed furnace tune-up on 17-year-old FRP unit. Replaced customer-supplied filter, verified clean blower within specifications, and checked electrical components. Noted inducer motor drawing excessive amperage (4A vs. 0.24A specification) and observed concerning areas on heat exchanger, though no visible cracks were found. System initially cycled off without error codes but performed normally during extended testing with proper 45° temperature rise. Customer informed about inducer performance concerns, heat exchanger condition, and benefits of maintenance agreement.
