Responded to a no-heat call for a 6-7 year old Goodman LP forced air furnace displaying lockout code. Diagnostic testing revealed the furnace was attempting ignition (igniter lighting and gas valve opening) but failing to sustain operation due to excessive start retries. Inspection identified severely corroded and plugged burners as the primary issue. Heat exchanger was thoroughly examined with no compromises found. Performed immediate service by removing and cleaning burners to restore temporary heat. System tested successfully with 40° temperature rise and operated normally for 15 minutes without issues. Recommended replacement burners (to be ordered) due to extensive corrosion, and provided customer with estimate for this future service.
