I scheduled a radon mitigation estimate for the customer's Baltimore, Ohio home.
Sent over estimate for 2 radon systems

* Client had us out for plumbing inspection today. * Client wished for us to just flush the water heater, he didn't want us to inspect anything and the utility room. I noticed the gas line was a mixture of galvanized and black iron. This is highly dangerous. * Galvanized is not meant for pressurized gas. It is meant for water and drain line. * Client was unaware of this situation. I immediately brought it up to him once I noticed it was galvanized. * Client wishes for us to send over an estimate to properly install it with black iron.
*client just wanted us to flush the heater. Client didn't want us to inspect rest of home. * Once I was done flushing the water heater I did not notice any issues regarding the water heater. Water heater is 8 years old. I informed the client of the possibility it could crack due to the age client was aware and stated they flushed it over the years. * In the utility room I noticed the gas line was a mixture of galvanized and black iron. This combination is very dangerous as galvanized is not meant for pressurized gas. Galvanized is meant for drain lines and water lines. * I immediately went to the client once I noticed the situation, client was unaware of the situation. I sent over an estimate to properly bring it up to code.
Unit not heating. Checked system and board was throwing 4 blink fault code which is main limit open. System is over heating. Checked for cracked heat exchanger. Read 0ppm on supply air. Checked for dirty filter. Checked supply air and return air temperature. Everything seemed to be working. Basked of age and the fact there were some rust spots near secondary heat exchanger it likely the secondary heat exchanger is clogged causing excessive heat buildup in unit. Will email over estimates for new furnace to Customer
I was called to a customer's home to fix a burnt wire at the heat pac. The customer was not home, so I had to wait for him to come back. When he arrived, I showed him the burnt wire and explained to him how to fix it himself.
I completed a no heat call on an electric furnace. I found that the amperage was good, the resistance was good, and the voltage coming from the panel was steady. I recommended that an electrician get out of here to diagnose the issue with the 30-volt air handler.
