I was called to a home in the suburbs of Chicago to repair a gas valve that had been intermittently failing. Upon arrival, I found that the gas valve diaphragm had failed and was causing the flames to roll out. I reset the switch and tried to adjust the gas pressures, but the issue persisted. I recommended replacing the gas valve with a new one to ensure that the client's system would stay up and running.
