The young man was very polite and explained everything he was checking. He did clean the coils with a brush and did lots of test for the heat and only found that the fan was set to constant on and the filters were dirty. But said the furnace was working as it should.

Unit not heating. Found unit to be tripped out on pressure switch fault. Checked exhaust pipe and found that to be clear. Upon further inspection inducer motor was running extremely loud and leaking water from back plate. Someone from different company put tape an system to stop water from leaking on burner assembly and had it dripping onto bottom of furnace as seen in pictures. Talked with customer and let her know that based of age and the condition of furnace the best option would be replacing system. Customer signed estimate and furnace is set for install tomorrow.

Completed a furnace service call, upon arrival client took us to the thermostat and went to turn on system to show us what he’s been hearing, system would start a loud buzzing noise, and then shut off. Went downstairs and found inducer motor on lockout due to seizing of bearings from overheating. After recognizing that inducer motor failed, we took a deeper dive into the system to ensure no additional failures had happened due to furnace overheating, we found cracks in your heat exchanger, indicating a necessity for replacement. After discussing options, client wanted to know prices of new furnace and opted for a full modulation furnace with UV filtration on 12/29/25
