I was called to a home to check on a furnace that was not working. Upon arrival, I found that the pilot light was lit, but the furnace was not producing any heat. I checked the heat exchanger and found a massive crack. I also noticed that the outside unit was hitting the furnace. I explained the situation to the client and recommended replacing both the furnace and the outside unit. The client opted for a higher-end replacement on both systems.
