Today, I was called to address an issue with a Bradford White 50-gallon electric water heater installed in 2018. Upon inspection, the water heater appeared to be in excellent condition, which is typical for this model. I tested both the top and bottom heating elements, which showed a resistance of 13 ohms, indicating they are functioning correctly. Additionally, I checked the top and bottom thermostats for continuity, confirming they are operational. Although there was a slight possibility of a crack in one of the thermostats, it was likely calcified, which could mask internal issues. Given the water heater's age, I recommended a replacement for better efficiency. I provided estimates for repair, replacement, and a tankless option, which the client expressed interest in. The client decided to consult with their spouse before making a final decision.
