I was called to a home to fix a thermostat that was not working. I arrived at the house and found that the wire going from the thermostat to the furnace was torn. I removed the old thermostat and replaced it with a new one. I also replaced the wires that were damaged. I then tested the thermostat to make sure it was working properly. I filled out a parts order form for the new thermostat and wires.
