Upon arrival, I assessed the unit and identified a grinding noise originating from the inducer motor. After a thorough inspection, I confirmed that the system was operating correctly, but the noise was excessive. I took a CO2 reading in the supply duct in the bathroom, which showed 0 ppm, indicating proper ventilation. The flame sensor was dirty, so I cleaned it using sandpaper. Considering the unit's age and condition, I recommended a furnace replacement. I provided an estimate for the replacement and filled out a parts order form for a new inducer motor, although I did not recommend repairing it due to the unit's overall condition. I also applied a military discount to the replacement estimate.
