Responded to emergency service call for a leaking water heater system in utility room. Upon inspection, identified active leak from bottom of the tank with approximately 1/2 inch of standing water collected in drain pan. Documented existing configuration including expansion tank and associated copper piping connections. Recommended complete replacement of the failing unit.
