Upon inspection, the system was correctly configured for an inverter-driven compressor. However, the electric heat was not switching over automatically. I adjusted the thermostat settings to enable dual fuel capability, ensuring the system would switch to emergency heat when needed. Specifically, I set the changeover temperature to 20°F. This adjustment guarantees that the system will operate in emergency heat mode whenever the outside temperature drops below 20°F, optimizing energy efficiency and performance during colder weather. The system is now fully functional, providing reliable heating even in extreme conditions.
