Diagnosed 26-year-old natural gas furnace that was cycling off after approximately 10 minutes of operation, causing complete power loss including thermostat blackouts. Inspection revealed a cracked heat exchanger adjacent to the high limit switch causing safety shutdowns, compounded by oil leakage from the blower motor and possible control board issues. Due to safety hazards and extensive component failures, determined unit was unsafe for continued operation and recommended complete system replacement.
