Upon arrival found connection on pressure switch that was redone loose causing unit to drop out flames and fault out on pressure switch error. Noticed the terminal didn’t look good and needed to replace pressure switch I’m unsure if it was caused during last visit or not or if the pressure switch was the original issue. Warranty part replacement no charge. Cycled unit several times with new pressure switch on and operation of the unit is normal.
Swapped out infinity thermostat for a Honeywell t4. Rewired condenser since it was wired as a communicating, tested for operation after and unit fired up. Adjusted airflow for the air conditioner at the furnace as well. Tested furnace after wiring in thermostat, both furnace and ac operating properly off of new thermostat. Showed customer how to operate thermostat. Let them know to call if they have any questions
I found the furnace coding out on an error code 35–1. That is for modulating gas valve fault. Spoke with tech-support and they still do not have a solution for this. After some troubleshooting, I came to the conclusion that with the communicating thermostat, the furnace will code out 35-1. However, I installed a ecobee thermostat temporarily which has shown no issues with operation. Let the customer know that once we hear back from carrier, we will return to install the previously installed infinity communicating thermostat. As well as any additional fixes that carrier has for the modulating gas fault. Also completed startup for the air conditioner at this time, using a charging jacket. Followed the correct procedures using the charging jacket in lower than ideal ambient weather. Did not make any adjustments to refrigerant however, I would like to return once the weather has picked up to verify that the charge is correct on the system.
Pressure switch wires melted on draft inducer motor, respliced new spade clips on to pressure switch and furnace functioned after.
Found the infinity control touch screen not responsive on certain parts of the screen. Unable to switch modes for heat/cool/off. Gave customer options for replacing thermostat. They do not want the infinity thermostat installed again, offered an ECOBEE 3 lite and Honeywell t4. Customer said they will think about it and reach back out to us Ecobee thermostat needs an add-a-wire since there’s only 4 wires. Whichever thermostat the customer goes with we will need to adjust dip switch settings for the AC for airflow given they will not be using the infinity control anymore.
