Conducted inspection of client's water softener system due to concerns about diminished water softness. Upon assessment, determined no mechanical issues with the dual-tank filtration system. Adjusted hardness level settings on the softener control unit to increase water softness, while advising client this modification will increase salt consumption. Explained to homeowner that perceived reduction in softness likely resulted from acclimation to soft water rather than system malfunction.
