Responded to no-heat complaint where customer reported temperature dropping from set point of 70°F to 65°F. Inspection revealed furnace was operational but with restricted airflow due to dirty filter. Replaced filter and advised customer that during extreme cold weather, maintaining a 3-degree temperature differential is normal performance and recommended not setting thermostat above 70°F under these conditions.
