Arrived on site for an active leak originating from the piping beneath the kitchen sink. During today’s evaluation, it was determined that the kitchen faucet was leaking internally and was beyond repair. Additionally, both hot water supply stops, one serving the kitchen faucet and one serving the dishwasher, we found to be heavily corroded. The cold water supply stop was also corroded and showing signs of deterioration. The homeowner was shown the condition of the faucet and supply stops and elected to move forward with replacement of the kitchen faucet, along with all associated hot and cold supply stops to prevent future leaks. Further evaluation of the plumbing system revealed the home water pressure to be at 100 psi, which exceeds recommended operating pressure and can contribute to premature plumbing failures. The existing PRV was also found to be corroded and no longer operating reliably. We replaced the PRV and installed a new expansion tank on the existing three year old water
