Not heating - Main level System nit heating due to a failed thermostat. The thermostat contacts for W “heat” has failed. I tested the wires and jumped them out at their thermostat to confirm. I went over a few options to address this problem. The homeowner opted for option A. I replaced the thermostat, added a common wire so the thermostat didn’t have to rely on batteries, and tested the equipment in both heating and cooling. Before replacing the thermostat I did go over the age and weak components on the system, and suggested replacing the equipment. The system is now heating properly. There is a 5 year parts warranty on the thermostat and we are going to honor a 2 year labor warranty given the circumstances. Thank you for choosing T.E. Certified, have a great day!
We came out today due to the garage door openers not working. The customer stated that she just had the exterior of the home power washed. We went into the garage and I discovered a tripped and broken GFCI device. I told the homeowner that the device needs to be replaced because the trip button was broken. I also stated that we need to inspect as to where water got into a device and caused the trip so we could help prevent it from happening again. The circuit for the garage is circuit #20 and it is on a single pole 15 AFCI breaker. The GFCI device also controls (3) exterior receptacles and after further investigation this is what was found. -Front of Home- The box holding the device is sticking out past the brick and the cover was not sitting flat to the brick and no silicone was on the gasket to prevent water from entering. The device was moist from the pressure washer so I replaced it at no additional cost. I also applied silicone around both sides of the gasket to provide as mush
We moved the disposal wire for the kitchen island for an air switch. We put a new metal box and outlet for the disposal. We installed a dual function breaker for the disposal. We also moved the dishwasher wire to an outlet under the sink. We put a new metal box and outlet for the dishwasher. We left 2 new cord with the homeowner for the disposal and dishwasher. We installed three new gfci/afci breakers for kitchen appliances. We installed a whole home surge protector at the main panel. The surge protector is in a flush mount kit under the main panel. We also installed a new 50 amp breaker for the surge protector. We installed a new customer supplied video flood light for the back yard
We were called out due to water on the basement floor. This water was occurring during heavy rains yesterday. There was also an existing cut in the Sheetrock at the base of the wall that had already been opened prior to our arrival. We cut Sheetrock to inspect penetrations we found no signs of leaks from our penetration but noticed dampness around a pin old, no longer in use, pipe penetration. We resealed both old a new penetrations from the inside we then dug at the the exterior foundation and sealed old penetration from an old water service with hydro cement and roofing tar. We noticed that the gutters nearby are full and should be cleaned out to avoid water spillage in this area. There may be other leaks in the foundation unrelated to the pipe penetrations, but since it isn’t currently raining we did not observe any leaks from cracks or other openings in the foundation wall. We recommend leaving the Sheetrock open until after the next rain to ensure there are no further lea
