Today we replaced a capacitor and installed a hard start kit for the outdoor condenser unit. We also installed a wet switch into the upstairs pan for best flood protection. Completed repairs and found no failures at this time.

Fun arrival I spoke with a customer about a need for a new light that they had purchased to be mounted at the back door without a switch. During talking to the customer about the estimate, he also showed me a box that needed to be secured as it was damaged when a car went through the building. After agreeing on the estimates provided, I proceeded with picking up the wire needed for this install. After returning, I proceeded with starting the install by finding a light connection box in the ceiling area. After finding a tap box for the lighting, I was able to tap into the hot and neutral side and supply power for the new fixture. I cut in a box as high as possible due to the inside layout being unnavigable with a ladder. After finishing the box and wire install, I proceeded with mounting the fixture. After mounting the fixture I sealed around the fixture with silicone. I return power and the fixture seems to be working properly. I moved to the nail salon where after cutting out a small

Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system. Finding: compressor is going out and fan motor also. Pressures are extremely high. Coil very dirty. Compressor is pulling more amps then the manufacture specs call for on a full load. Fan over amping as well and has a very bad shake. No filter door on furnace pulling in hot attic air. Do not recommend repairs as the system is 23 yrs old and has already had major repairs done.

Outdoor condenser not turning on due to a failed capacitor. Tested further with new capacitor and found the unit is low on r22 refrigerant signifying a leak. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.

Failed capacitor causing outdoor condenser to not start up. Also found hard start kit has failed. Today we replaced these two components as a bandaid repair. Informed the customer that the fan motor is over amping, the condenser coil need cleaning, and system has subpar flood protection in attic. The bare minimum basic repairs to get the system running today.

Performed diagnostic on 16yr old carrier unit, upon arrival customer stated unit outside wasn’t coming on just buzzing, checked both tstats, cycled to ac mode, went to attic to inspect furnace, found furnace heavily rusted, explain could cause issues in winter, blower motor has been replaced at some point, blower cap checked good, found two dirty filters, recommend replacing both filters, evaporator coil heavily rusted, explained could cause future leaks, found one of the zone dampers are stuck half way open, recommend replacing zone dampers, also noticed unit doesn’t have a bypass , explain system is zoned and requires a bypass to help relieve pressure when only one zone is calling to prevent dampers from failing, upon checking outdoor unit found not running making real loud buzzing noise, condenser coil impacted, recommend chemical cleaning, customer had a lock on disconnect box, didn’t have key and gave permission to cut lock, removed lock , found contactor buzzing, recommend replaci
