Installed Aprilaire 95-pint whole-home dehumidifier in crawlspace today. Humidity was reading 78% before installation—way too high! Mounted unit on block foundation, ran dedicated drain line to exterior. Connected to existing HVAC system for air distribution. Set control to maintain 50% humidity. Should prevent mold growth and improve overall air quality significantly. Also placed hygrometer in living area for customer to monitor results. Entire home should feel less "sticky" within 24-48 hrs. 3-year warranty registered online.
Troubleshoot breaker tripping, replaced breaker.
Arrived found system not cooling due to zero refrigerant in the system. Recommend nitrogen assisted leak search. Upon completion of leak search will be additional repair charges. Customer would like quote on system replacement. Bad capacitor for blower motor. Dirty blower wheel. No in-line safety or wet switch. Pitted contactor.
Performed customer spring system homecare maintenance check 1 system Unit is 19 years old, r22 system Changed customer supplied (20x20x4) media filter. Checked over all operations of system, unit is old and does have some wear down due to age. Advised customer of dirty blower wheel, customer approved to have cleaned today, removed blower housing and cleaned. Advised customer that there is no flood protection on equipment customer approved to have wet switch and inline float switch installed today. There was a lot of growth build up in equipment, customer approved to have entire system cleaned. Advised customer there is signs of heavy rusting on the evaporator coil. Customer advised me that the reme halo for system was no longer coming on, tested transformer and system had 240volts, the reme halo has failed, customer approved to have new Uv light installed today.
