We really appreciate Dalton for sharing his knowledge, he quickly diagnosed our issues and fixed our upstairs thermostat on the spot. We are now enjoying cool air again upstairs. Troubleshoot, replace faulty 4way switches
Upon arrival customer stated that system was not heating and no power was on for the system. After inspection of 8 year old system found that system had a failed transformer. Transformer failed from pressure switch wire touching copper. Blower wheel was dirty, zone system did not have its on transformer, system needed wet switch for drain pan, heat strips were not hooked up properly, outdoor condenser coils were very dirty, and drain line for condensation pump was not built correctly. Gave customer estimate to clean blower wheel, install a transformer for zone system and hvac system, clean condenser coils, add wet switch, blower motor capacitor, and fix drain line. Customer approved to have all repairs done. Made all repairs system, and unit is back up and running at this time.
Performed diagnostic on heat pump, upon arrival customer stated tenant stated heat stopped working, checked both tststs, cycled to heat mode , nothing came on, went to attic to inspect unit, found no lights on zone board, checked voltage no voltage to unit, getting 120v to each leg but not 240, upon checking disconnect found melted, recommended replacing disconnect to get voltage to unit, customer approved, replaced failed disconnect with new disconnect, tightened all screws , after replacing disconnect unit started up, checked heat strips amp draw, checked ok, checked pressure, temp split, everything working properly at time, still recommend TE flood protection wet switch as well as uv protection, sent estimates over to homeowner
Did a leak troubleshoot homeowner has a leak under the slab on gray poly supply pipe, I was not able to do a full leak detection service because of the flooring and the fact that she has a leaking toilet supply valve in the guest bathroom. Once the flooring is up and the valves inside of the home are sound, I will be able to return at Herba to do the slab leak detection service.
Replaced two customer provided ballast and emergency spot lights.
Came out for leak in the yard. At&t ran their machine over lawn, in the process they tore up the irrigation line and main domestic lines. Both were broken causing water to leak up from underneath lawn (left side of house). Temporary domestic line was installed and irrigation line capped off on both ends. Did notify customer of the temporary line and connections. There is no warranty on line due to line being too shallow, tech advised customer to run faucets during and temperature drop below freezing, to help from freezing. Turned on n water supply, tested with no leaks at this time.
Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system. Came out for a no heat. Upon arrival noticed that the condenser coil is in very rough shape. All the fins are almost completely pushed in, not allowing the system to breathe when it was running. Also found oil dripping from the unit from the compressor inside and also underneath completely black oil found that the system had a burnout/blowout plug blew out of the compressor leaking out all the refrigerant in the oil. The breaker size is way too big system calls for a max 30 amp. There is a 50 amp inside. The breaker panel system is also not wired correctly on low-voltage. There is no reversing valve wired into the System. It only has a four wire on the thermostat due to the condition of the blowout. The line set is also gonna have to be replaced to assure there’s no acid left inside the system and possible for the evaporator coil as well. Do not recommend doing repairs due to the extent of damage
For this job, I did an interior leak detection service for Miss Tamika discovered she has a leak under her slab about 3 feet off of her water heater
Replace 2 old smoke detectors in basement to smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Let customer know it is recommended to replace all of them if not the ones upstairs might start chirping soon.
Came out to a no heat recall. I found that the wire coming from the spark igniter was rubbing up against the gas valve and causing the wire to arch and not send voltage to the igniter. We wrapped the compromised wire in electrical tape and ran the system. The igniter then sparked and the system came on. We ran that unit for 20 minutes and it ran to specifications. We also check the other unit because it came on and went off immediately while we were there so we checked the flame sensor and it was dirty. We cleaned the flame sensor then ran the system and everything is working according to specifications.
I arrived to the customers home and they had a back up only affecting their laundry room located in the garage. The customer attempted to sneak out the line himself and pulled back tree roots. Today I discussed with the customer how it would be most beneficial to figure out where the section of compromised piping is by doing a camera inspection. The piping was so corroded, My camera would not push past. Phase One of multiple phase project was quoted, the estimate provided would be good for 30 days
arrived to perform sold work, install new zone first zone board, wired zone board up correctly to work with communication outdoor unit and non communication indoor unit, wired outdoor heat pump for non communication system, installed new wire for zone damper, cycled unit on to heat mode, heat came on and work, also switched to ac mode , both modes working, spoke with customer about homecare, customer signed up today and is ware $17.95 per month, performed 1st visit today, replaced filter 16x20x1, flushed drain line, recommend TE flood protection such as wet switch, customer declined, checked blower wheel, blower capacitor reading below specs, recommend replacing, installed new blower capacitor, inspected evap coil, checked heat strips, made sure both dampers working properly, inspected outdoor unit, checked pressures, temp split, unit working properly at time, spoke with customer about indoor air quality such as uv lights, customer declined at time, unit is working properly
Came out installed new gas line and pressure regulator valve gas line in crawlspace ran 10 foot of track pipe though floor behind stove tested. Pressure regulator valve in crawlspace in front of house tested no failure at this time.
Came out today to perform one system HVAC service call. Upon arrival Customer stated that they had a company previously out. Customer stated that the unit stopped tripping breakers after the previous company had left and was no longer coming on at all. Upon inspection of the system found that the windings for the compressor were grounded, the thermostat was not set up properly, the system was a R 22 refrigerant system. Due to findings today it is recommended to replace the system due to R 22 being obsolete and the age of the system. At this time, customer wants to proceed with getting a quote for a new system.
