Troubleshoot electrical issue. ISSUE: breaker for outdoor outlets and pond instantly trips (dead short) LOCATION: outdoor outlets, pond, panel FINDINGS:I checked all connections at each outdoor outlet and covered with tape to prevent future shorts. Upon checking inside panel, I noticed the wire for the circuit tripping was pinched by the cover. This caused the hot to make contact with the panel, resulting in a dead short. RESOLUTION: I removed from pinched spot, and cut above damaged insulation of wire. I spliced onto the wire to remove damaged spot and breaker is holding
