Arrived on site to install a brand new yard hydrant beside the garage. There was an existing yard hydrant that had broke from the original service line for the hydrant. Customer wanted me to install a new yard hydrant in its place. I was able to dig up the existing waterline for the yard hydrant which I cut back and removed. Once removed, I went ahead and dug out more of the area to create a proper connection and secured space for the hydrant. I cut back on the existing PVC line and also installed a shut off valve for the hydrant , in case the hydrant ever has any issues in the future. After I stabilized the hydrant, I went ahead and turned the water back on and tested the hydrant to ensure no issues . Once the hydrant was tested , I buried the hydrant with a bucket full of gravel, laid some mud to fill the gaps around the bucket, then poured some concrete above the rim of the bucket to secure the hydrant.
