Customer had pinhole leak on water service line between meter and house. Customer dug up the line and stated they also will backfill. Cut out failed section of pipe and replaced with a band aid repair. Explained to customer that due to the age of the service line and the fact that it was a pinhole leak that it is recommended to replace water service with a new one. Customer decided to perform band aid repair to fix leak and be able to turn water back on to the house. No warranty on repair due to age of pipe material and nature of repair being a band aid solution As stated, customer will back fill hole themselves.
