Performed a first-time HomeCare visit for a new customer. Upon inspection of the system, I found that the supply and return plenums are constructed from duct board fiberglass and are showing signs of deterioration. Installed a cleanout tee on the drain line at no additional charge, to clear drain line. The system lacks adequate flood protection? Checked the indoor unit and found trace amounts of biological growth, the system does not currently have any active IAQ (indoor air quality) treatment or microbial solutions in place. At the outdoor unit, I found the system was undercharged. I performed a preliminary leak check using fieldpiece sniffer and soap bubbles, but no conclusive signs of refrigerant leaks were found at this time. The system was then charged with 410A refrigerant (2 lbs added with customer approval). I also cleaned the open-faced condenser coil and installed the customer-supplied thermostat.
