Today we replaced the 11 year old water heater, pressure regulator, and main shut off valve. We removed all the push connections fittings that were attached above the water heater. All new sections of copper. The flue was connected to the new unit. Added a low point drain to the relief line. The new thermal expansion tank was mounted to a stud per code. New heater was set in a catch pan. The pressure regulator was replaced and installed a new whole house 1/4 turn shut off valve. These were located behind the the cabinet in the basement. Customer gave authorization to cut access to the regulator. Pressurized system and checked both gas and water connections.
