Today I came out for heat pump not working. Upon arrival I found the heat pump in lockout mode due to high pressure. I found a kink in the liquid line right outside right before it goes into the home. I reset the system and system ran for 30 minutes but the pressure was steadily increasing until it will lock itself out again. Chris also informed me his main unit was not cooling properly during the summer and asked if I could take a look at it. Unfortunately, it began to rain and I was unable to get my gauges on to test pressures. However, given the furnace had a bunch of rust along inducer and throughout I inspected the heat exchanger. I found an eyelit cracked and separating. Based off the age of equipment, I recommend replacing both the heat pump and furnace. After going over options, Chris is going to discuss it with his wife and get back to me on how he would like to proceed.
