Responded to call for gas odor in 8-12 NG furnace, which customer reported was stronger when unit was inactive. Upon diagnostic testing with multimeter, determined gas valve was bypassing and allowing gas to leak through burners during off-cycle. Replaced defective gas valve under warranty to resolve the safety hazard.
