Responded to service call for no hot water from 1-year-old water heater. Diagnosed thermostat setting at excessive temperature (160°F) causing safety shutdown. Determined child had inadvertently adjusted settings while retrieving toy. Re-lit pilot light and restored thermostat to appropriate temperature setting. Unit now functioning properly.
