Responded to a water leak from second floor bathroom affecting ceiling below. Upon inspection, identified extremely loose two-piece shower strainer due to deteriorated plumbing putty/inadequate sealant as the source. Installed new top section of shower drain with proper gaskets and sealant. Completed water testing to verify repair effectiveness. Customer opted for topside repair solution rather than more extensive drywall removal option.
