Responded to no heat call for aging furnace (10+ years old) that was cycling on but blowing cold air due to pilot light repeatedly extinguishing. Inspected heat exchanger and identified suspicious areas of potential deterioration. Cleaned flame sensor which temporarily resolved the immediate issue, allowing furnace to maintain operation. Noted that system never displayed error codes during flame sensor cycling, suggesting possible control board malfunction as secondary contributing factor.
