Responded to service call for non-functioning water heater with reported gas leak. Upon inspection, discovered flame rolling out through side panel due to dirty components rather than faulty gas valve or burner assembly. Performed thorough cleaning of flue vent and burner assembly. Additionally, identified and replaced non-functioning temperature and pressure relief valve to restore proper safety function. Water heater now operating correctly with proper flame containment.
