Came out today because the system was not cooling. This is the only system in home. This is a 2020 carrier heat pump/air handler that is zoned with two zones upstairs and downstairs. Upon arrival, found water inside of the drain pan and customer stated that this morning the system was froze up. Upon Inspection of the system found a fixed metering device, That is a piston. Offer found two Honeywell damper motors that when you close them, they would get stuck close and would not open back up due to the gearing inside being stripped out. The reason these motors failed is due to static pressure. When a system struggles to have the correct airflow, then it throws The entire system off. It causes the entire system to work much harder than what it is intended to do also upon inspection found the outdoor capacitor bad. This is due to extreme pressure on the system from the air flow.
