House has a toilet that is not filling properly in the powder room. House also has a garbage disposal that leaks and doesn’t turn on. Upon further investigation, I found that there is no thermal expansion tank on the system. I removed the old fill valve, and supply line. I replaced them with a new brass shank fill valve and a new supply line. Additionally I replaced the yellow flush piston seal for the toilet. I flushed the toilet approximately 5 times to ensure proper function and to check for leaks. The water heater has no thermal expansion tank on the cold side, and the hot side is piped in with a flexible steel connector with a push to connect fitting. I removed the flexible connector and installed approximately 16” of new 3/4” type M copper. I installed a new brass female adapter to the top of the water heater on the hot side and connected onto existing copper for the hot side. I charged the thermal expansion tank to 55 PSI.
