Customer called about an unstable toilet in the master bathroom. Closet bolts were completely rusted out and homeowner was unable to remove toilet Cut out bolts to pull toilet. Once toilet was pulled discovered a rusted out band aid repair flange that was used previously in an attempt to raise height of toilet flange to be level with the surface of tile flooring. Cut out this rusted flange and instead a proper flange extension so flange was flush with flooring. Reset toilet and placed sanitary seal. Tested and flushed toilet several times and everything is working as it should at this time While in basement, took a look at the water heater and noticed a poor installation. Due to improper fittings (dissimilar metals) that were used to install heater, corrosion is visible on top on the water heater.
