The homeowner had active water running from the street to the main shut-off valve in their home. However, the homeowner was unable to isolate the source of the water to confirm whether it was coming from the front yard. To address this issue, I replaced the old main shut-off gate valve with a new ball valve, allowing me to isolate the water flow after shutting off the supply inside the house. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the water was actually leaking somewhere in the yard and was emerging near the front of the neighbor's house. It was unclear whether the leak was the responsibility of the city or the homeowner because of the unusual location where the water was pooling.
