Tech arrived to problem call for downstairs system. Downstairs system is approximately 7 years old. Homeowner had expressed that the downstairs heat pump system was making a loud grinding noise on outdoor unit. System was heating properly on arrival with just a noise complaint. Troubleshooted and found that the bearings inside condenser fan motor were starting to fail. Also noticed that the indoor unit lacks adequate flood protection. Everything else was operational. Brought homeowner recommendations. Homeowner agreed to replace condenser fan motor only. Tech went to parts house and gathered materials. Changed out condenser fan motor and verified operations.
