I came out today due to the upstairs bedrooms on the left had no power. I checked a few devices and found Hot/Neutral Reverse which means “Open Neutral”. I found the issue on a burnt neutral located in the first bedroom on the left on the wall in front of the bed. I cut back the old wiring and tapped everything through to verify that this was the issue before proceeding. I informed the customers what was going on and they agreed for me to do a room re-device so I removed the old receptacles switches and plates and supplied installed new ones. I also went through clean the boxes out and scraped the paint off the equipment grounding conductors before reinstalling the new parts. After completion, I verify that everything was working and it is down in the foyer. I removed the existing surface mounted fixture and installed a new customer supplied crystal chandelier.
