Responded to service call for newly installed furnace that was extremely loud with reports of persistent gas odor. Determined the noise issue was due to excessive blower speed and adjusted from medium to medium-low setting to reduce operational noise. Confirmed gas smell was not from a leak but from shipping oil burning off; ran furnace for 45 minutes while airing out the home to eliminate the odor completely.
