Responded to service call for intermittent heating issue with 10-year-old heat pump system. Diagnosed multiple issues including: plugged 5-inch filter due to ultrasonic humidifier usage, inducer motor operating loudly and out of specification, partially stripped collector box screw, incorrect exterior terminations, and unglued PVCT2 inducer fern coal. Observed primary heat exchanger overheating and system cycling (30-60 seconds) with occasional banging noises during startup/shutdown. Provided repair quote for inducer and collector box replacement.
