Customer had concerns regarding improper venting of the existing 50 gallon gas water heater. The unit was venting through a basement. Great, creating a potential carbon monoxide hazard. Mrs. expressed safety concerns about possible CO exposure. After evaluation, we recommended replacing the existing unit with a properly vented system. Today we removed the old 50 gallon gas water heater and installed a new 50 gallon gas power vent water heater. Venting was rerouted and properly terminated through the exterior of the home to ensure safe exhaust discharge and cold compliance. While completing this installation, we also replaced the home pressure reducing valve and main water shut off valve to ensure proper system control and reliability. Water pressure was measured at 55 psi after installation, which is within safe operating range. System was fully tested, all lines were purged, and unit is operating properly at this time.
