Homeowner has a leaking thermal expansion tank above the water heater. The water heater is located in a utility closet on the main floor. The thermal expansion tank is leaking from the Schrader valve at the top. Turned off the water using a ball valve in an irrigation box outside, and drained down the water system. Turned off the breaker for the electric water heater. Unthreaded and removed the failed expansion tank. Installed a propress male into the expansion tee. Installed an expansion tank bracket on the top plate above the door. Ensured clearance before installing. Installed on top plate as there were no studs available to mount the expansion tank to. Mounted expansion tank to bracket. Installed approximately 8” of copper into the male adapter. Installed approximately 12” of copper into the expansion tank. Reinstated water to the system to test for leaks. Purged air from water system. Turned breaker on for water heater and ensured it is heating as it’s supposed to. Water pressur
