Customer stated he has been experiencing inconsistent water pressure readings throughout the home. He mentioned that after flushing, the 15-year-old 50 gallon gas water heater, he began noticing pressure fluctuations and reduce performance at fixtures. Today, we performed a thorough plumbing system evaluation. Initial water pressure reading was 85 psi, and upon retesting, pressure dropped to 65 psi, indicating inconsistent regulation. Based on these fluctuating readings, it was determined that the existing pressure reducing valve is failing and no longer maintaining stable downstream pressure. Additionally, the expansion tank showed signs of improper operation and is no longer functioning as designed. Due to the age of the 15-year-old water heater and the recent pressure concerns, customer elected to move forward with replacing the 50 gallon gas, water heater, pressure, reducing valve, and thermal expansion tank with properly secured bracket.
