The leak in the basement is a result of a pin hole on the 1/2 inch line for a dedicated recirculating pump. The leak caused flooding in the basement of the home with water spraying onto the wall down into air intake grill at the bottom of the water heater the water eventually made its way into the gas chamber causing the burner assembly to cease function. When I arrived on 1/19 I attempted to relight the water heater and was unable to do so. The manufacturers limited warranty does not cover failure as a result of water.
