Homeowner has a stain on the ceiling in the family room. The stain is approximately 3 feet across in diameter. The stain appeared on the ceiling only a few days prior. The homeowner also has a failed thermal expansion tank, and a water heater that is from 2010. Drained down and removed old water heater. Cut out and removed old copper for water heater. Installed new anode rod warranty extender inside water heater. Removed old spring style gas valve and replaced with new ball valve. Installed new metal pan with CPVC drain for water heater. Installed cork pads to elevate water heater above flood rim. Set new water heater and ensure it is stable. Attached flu vent and ensure it has proper pitch for venting. Installed new ball valve on cold side of water heater, before expansion tank tie in. Installed approximately 2’ of new 3/4” type L copper and connected to cold side. Mounted expansion tank to nearby stud using expansion tank mounting bracket. Installed approximately 18” of new 3/4” typ
